Welcome

As the Principal of St Brigid’s Primary School, I extend to you a very warm welcome to our website.  Through this we aim to give you a flavour of some of the school events, visitors and experiences offered to our children.

St Brigid’s is a Catholic maintained, co-educational primary school, where the children are at the heart of every decision we make and everything we do. We value the great relationships that we have formed with our parents and acknowledge the dedicated work and commitment of the Staff, Governors and Parents Association.

We enjoy a warm, welcoming, inclusive atmosphere and it is this distinctive ethos which enables the children to flourish and succeed giving them the skills, attitudes and desire to achieve their full potential.

I hope that you find our website informative and interesting and gain some insight into how we fulfil our school motto: 'Learning and Growing Together'.  If you would like to see our school and experience our ethos I would be delighted to meet with you.

Thank you for visiting our website.

Kind regards

Dolores Miller

Principal

Today, our P4 classroom was transformed into a Roman Triclinium (dining room)! As part of our Ancient Rome topic, the children took part in an authentic Roman Feast. 🍇🥖 The young citizens sampled everything from "Soldier’s Meat" to the famous "Garum" sauce! There were some brave faces, some very surprised taste buds, and a lot of discussion about how life (and snacks!) have changed over 2,000 years. The big question of the day: Could you survive a dinner party with no forks? 🍴 P4 proved they could eat like true Emperors using only their fingers!
Our P1 children had some very special visitors today to celebrate International Nurses Day! We traded our pencils for stethoscopes as we learned all about the amazing work nurses do to keep us healthy and happy. We welcomed Saorlaith’s mum Clara and Cara, who led us through a morning of hands on activities including 🧸 The Teddy Bear Clinic: Class bear Spencer and his brother weren't feeling their best, but our P1 nurses were on the case! From checking "fluffy hearts" to applying colorful bandages, the bears are now on the road to recovery. 👂 Nurse Says: We practiced our listening skills with a high-energy game. We learned that nurses have to be great listeners to help their patients feel better! 🩹 The Mystery Nurse Bag: Using only their sense of touch, the children guessed what tools a nurse carries. We definitely have some future healthcare heroes in our midst! 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ A huge thank you to our visiting nurses Cara and Clara for inspiring our little ones and making International Nurses Day so memorable.
