As the Principal of St Brigid’s Primary School, I extend to you a very warm welcome to our website. Through this we aim to give you a flavour of some of the school events, visitors and experiences offered to our children.
St Brigid’s is a Catholic maintained, co-educational primary school, where the children are at the heart of every decision we make and everything we do. We value the great relationships that we have formed with our parents and acknowledge the dedicated work and commitment of the Staff, Governors and Parents Association.
We enjoy a warm, welcoming, inclusive atmosphere and it is this distinctive ethos which enables the children to flourish and succeed giving them the skills, attitudes and desire to achieve their full potential.
I hope that you find our website informative and interesting and gain some insight into how we fulfil our school motto: 'Learning and Growing Together'. If you would like to see our school and experience our ethos I would be delighted to meet with you.
Thank you for visiting our website.
Kind regards
Dolores Miller

🌟 P7M: Memories in the Making! 🌟
It has been another action-packed week as the Primary 7 children head into their final few weeks of primary school! Here is a snippet of what they’ve been up to:
🎬 Literacy & Mystery: The classroom was filled with imagination this week as the children listened to the soundtrack of the award-winning animated short film, ‘Alma’. Using their inference and prediction skills, the children guessed what the story was about and tried to predict the cliffhanger ending after watching a pivotal scene!
⚽ 🏆 World Cup 2026 Gurus: World Cup fever has officially taken over! The children have been busy researching their chosen countries—uncovering everything from population stats to tournament history. They also put their art skills to work by beautifully showcasing each country's kit for the star players. If you need any World Cup trivia, P7M are your go-to experts!
🏐 Gaelic Skills: A huge thank you to Oisin for a fantastic Gaelic session. The children had a brilliant time developing their teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship through some fast-paced games and activities.
🕊️ Confirmation Party: Our P7 children, and choir, enjoyed a well-deserved reward after all their hard work and preparation in the run up to receiving the Sacrament .
⭐️International Day of Play⭐️
Today, EY1 and Foundation Stage children celebrated ‘International Day of Play’. At St Brigid's, we value the importance of play and recognise it as a fundamental part of children's learning, development, and wellbeing.
Throughout the day, children participated in a range of engaging play experiences that encouraged them to explore, create, imagine, communicate, and work together. Through play, children develop important life skills, build confidence, strengthen friendships, and learn to express their thoughts and feelings in a positive way. At St Brigid's, we believe that children learn best when they are actively engaged in meaningful and enjoyable experiences. By providing rich opportunities for play, we nurture curious, confident learners who are motivated to explore the world around them.
Following our incredibly successful pilot back in January, we have been thrilled to roll out the Teach to the Beat programme across other classes in the school!
Here is a little snippet of what our pupils got up to during May.
This term, some of our classes have absolutely loved diving into a wide range of musical elements. From exploring tempo and rhythm to understanding texture, they’ve been bringing music to life through hands-on instruments and song both indoors and outdoors.
We are so proud of their creativity and can’t wait to continue our Teach to the Beat journey across all Key Stages next year!
