Return to school guide
Dear Parents/Carer
I hope you and your family have had an enjoyable summer break and that you are looking forward to a new school year in St Brigid’s Primary School. We are all very eager and excited to see the children back in school. We are very much full of hope that this year may be more normal.
Having reviewed the latest guidance from the Minister, received on Wednesday 18th August, I would like to communicate with you the mitigations that we have in place to ensure our children access all aspects of their education in the new year within an environment that continues to reduce the risk of virus transmission.
The safety & well- being of the children and that of staff is our primary concern. Therefore, our planned reopening will be staggered from Thursday 25th August through to Tuesday 31st August. (See class start dates.)
Staff are aware that the COVID-19 outbreak, together with the start of a new school year, may be causing anxiety for some children and so there will be a continued focus on wellbeing support in school with opportunities to talk and share experiences within the school day.
- There will be support available at both individual and class level where required;
- Our trained Safeguarding Team, will help the children with any worries or anxieties they may have, as will your child’s class teacher;
- Remember you can always talk to your child’s class teacher via email or telephone if you have any concerns or questions.
May I thank you all for your understanding, patience and support in these challenging times and I look forward to working together as a school community to make each day a happy day for our children.
I would ask that you familiarize yourself with the following guidelines and procedures that will be implemented within the school. These are very fluid plans and therefore the procedures will be continually monitored and amended as needs be in the interest of Health and Safety. Likewise, if something is not working for your child please let us know as soon as possible so we can work together to get it right.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Dolores Miller
