We have been busy with lots of practical learning across the curriculum in P2K this week.
🔡We explored alphabetical order outdoors. We worked as a team putting the letter cones and mats into alphabetical order.
💰 We have been making amounts upto 20p using familiar coins.
🧸 In World Around Us we have been exploring the properties of toys. We worked in a group to identify the material the toy was made off, what it feels like and what it can do. We now have a better understanding of why different toys are made from certain materials.

P6/7 and P7 faced some tough maths challenges today with the Eliminator Task in Izak 9. The two groups had to set maths questions for the other group to solve. Excellent team work and problem solving skills from both groups and the children set such challenging questions for each other!

The wide range of classes available at St Brigid’s allows us to fulfill our school motto of ‘Learning and Growing Together’.

Thank you to Lucy Hamill’s dad Chonnal who recently helped us relocate our outdoor construction area including builders hut (previously sponsored by KAP Properties) to the forest area. This has now provided children across all the key stages with an opportunity to learn through exploration during break, lunch and outdoor learning.

💡✍️P7 Creative Writing Workshop ✍️ 💡
Today Primary 7 took part in a Creative Writing Workshop led by Fighting Words NI. They are a NI based youth charity whose focus is to empower young people through the ‘transformative power of creative writing.’ The children participated with fantastic enthusiasm and it was great to see the creative writing skills of our budding authors on show!
